GVO Announces ACME People Search the Winner of February Contest

Joel Therien, President of Global Virtual Realities (GVO), announced today that Tissa Godavitarne and the ACME People Search Internet Business winners of his February membership contest.

The ACME People Search community rallied to surge ahead of Munmi, Inc and Mike Filsaime to secure the victory and win this great car.  This car will now be sold and the profits given to the ACME People Search community.

Tissa Godavitarne mobilized his affiliates through a series of enticements that would benefit them.  His business will take a loss of roughly $43,000, but Tissa did this for his affiliates.  He also did this to highlight the huge value that GVO's suite of tools offers to his community and other Internet marketers.

What to Avoid in Internet Marketing?!

It might seem a little strange to introduce the concept of 'what to avoid in Internet marketing' prior to explaining 'what to look for,' but it really is the next logical step in this series of posts.  I base this on my own experience.  I fell for a lot of attractive ads that told me how much I could make, but they never explained how to do it.

Unfortunately, I fell for these ads and invested money to join.  Actually, it would be more accurate to say that I gave away money.  Still, I have these experiences and they provide a huge value to me now. I know what to avoid.

Here are some "red flags" to help you avoid making the same mistakes:

  1. If it sounds too good to be true, it is!
  2. If you are told you can make money fast, forget it!
  3. If you see an ad that tells you can make money without recruiting, move on!
Here is great "rule of thumb" to follow.  Never join an opportunity if you are required to pay just for joining.  This is pretty strong signal that you are about to be very disappointed. You should have the option to get in and have a look around to see if this opportunity is for you.  Otherwise, keep that credit card in your pocket and fight off the urge to spend your money.

Do not be in a hurry to make money on the Internet.  Take your time.  Learn how to earn money first. It's like I tell my kids: "I work hard for my money, so you are going to have to work twice as hard to get it away from me."

The Major Component of a Business

Granted, tools are essential in any business, but the major component of a successful business is advertising, marketing and promotion.  In short, let's just call this AMPs (Advertising, Marketing and Promotion).  If you are a major company like Ford Motors, marketing involves a whole lot more.  For example, they might test demographics before selling dealership rights to a particular person in a particular area.

But, for our purposes here... we can lump these all together in a single easy to understand term. And, the point I want to make is this, because it is critically important to any Internet marketing business, before you build your business you must learn how to advertise, market and promote it.  You must have a basic strategy in place, or you will definitely struggle.  And, this struggle will likely lead to frustration.  This frustration might cause you to give up on your business before it's even "off the ground."

And, that is the primary reason why aspiring business owners fail in this business.  They jump from opportunity to opportunity without understanding the importance of AMPs.  They keep trying, but they just end up throwing away a lot of money.  The operative term here is business.  If you understand that you are getting into a business and you understand the basic components of your business, there really isn't any reason why you should fail.

The Components of an Internet Marketing Business

The components of an Internet Marketing Home Business are simple.  Yet, it is estimated that 90-95 percent of aspiring business owners fail.  The reason for this is quite simple.  These potential business owners simply fail to understand the components of the business.

Like any new business, there are certain tools which are necessary to build and run it.  If you opened a sandwich store in your town, what tools would you need?  To name a few, you would probably need a walk-in refrigerator to store your perishable foodstuff, a slicer to cut your meats and cheeses, a cash register, knives, counter tops to chop and dice your condiments, and maybe some chairs and tables.  Let's not forget that glass window that separates your preparers from your customers.

Oh, and don't forget you need a building which you either purchase or lease.  All of these tools come at a certain price.  If I were to throw out an estimate, I'd be conservative to say your opening day costs would be between $20,000 and $30,000.  My brother started this type of business, and my estimates are fairly consistent with his experience.

But, having the tools necessary to start a business is only one component of a business...
