What to Avoid in Internet Marketing?!

It might seem a little strange to introduce the concept of 'what to avoid in Internet marketing' prior to explaining 'what to look for,' but it really is the next logical step in this series of posts.  I base this on my own experience.  I fell for a lot of attractive ads that told me how much I could make, but they never explained how to do it.

Unfortunately, I fell for these ads and invested money to join.  Actually, it would be more accurate to say that I gave away money.  Still, I have these experiences and they provide a huge value to me now. I know what to avoid.

Here are some "red flags" to help you avoid making the same mistakes:

  1. If it sounds too good to be true, it is!
  2. If you are told you can make money fast, forget it!
  3. If you see an ad that tells you can make money without recruiting, move on!
Here is great "rule of thumb" to follow.  Never join an opportunity if you are required to pay just for joining.  This is pretty strong signal that you are about to be very disappointed. You should have the option to get in and have a look around to see if this opportunity is for you.  Otherwise, keep that credit card in your pocket and fight off the urge to spend your money.

Do not be in a hurry to make money on the Internet.  Take your time.  Learn how to earn money first. It's like I tell my kids: "I work hard for my money, so you are going to have to work twice as hard to get it away from me."
